Here's
an almost complete set from Tinderbox at the notable Maxwell's in
beautiful Hoboken, New Jersey. A really good recording (once the
first song is over) with a great board mix. If only the guitarist
J.P. wasn't so sick with the flu that his harmonies ocassionally
sound like some poor animal caught in the tar pits.
I
have always loved so many of these songs: Uptown, presented
here as close to perfect as it got (except for a flu-vocal or two);
Bough To Break, an outsiders' view of earlier motherhood
and When It Comes Down. A few of well-chosen covers: Meat,
which I think was an obscure Robyn Hitchcock tune; This Man,
a Dave Davies/Kinks number Iąd never heard of before I met Sharyn
and a wonderful rave-up of Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now.
My own Understanding Everything is also a part of the set.
In retrospect it probably didn't belong. Oh well...
